How it works

The Murder Mystery Dinner Party begins early evening with a drinks reception where you meet the characters and receive your clue-packs - keep your wits about you so you don't miss any vital evidence! Next it's through to a three course silver service dinner as the plot unfolds. The actors perform comedic and clue packed scenes in between courses and table hop dropping clues, giving you the chance to question them! Word-games and quizzes are introduced, which may reveal clues to the culprit. At dessert time it's your chance to figure out who dunnit! Then hand in your solution sheets after which the dramatic denouement uncovers the dastardly villain whodunnit! They may even come to a sticky end themselves…

Our combination of interactive improvisation and scripted scenes means your guests can get involved in the action as little or as much as they like creating the perfect blend of fun, comedy and theatre to provide entertainment to die for! Our events appeal to introverts (who enjoy working out the clues) and extroverts (who enjoy interacting with the actors) and we have a broad appeal to both the young and old! Our actors remain in character throughout the entire evening of our unique Carry On Agatha Christie style entertainment.

Maximise the fun!

Personalise it. Our private murder mystery party can even be personalised to your event - just let us know a few names and juicy titbits about your friends or colleagues and our experienced murder mystery actors will be able to drop these in to add that extra element of surprise! For a real surprise why not keep the event a secret and let the characters reveal the true grisly nature of the evening...

Choose your own plot. We’ve all sorts of themes from flappers and gangsters to the Moulin Rouge and wartime Britain or modern day themed events are also available. View our plots. Alternatively you can commission your own murder mystery story exactly to your requirements (additional cost).

Dine with the characters. Our murder mystery nights are always fully interactive and excellent entertainment making it a truly unforgettable event, but to get the most out of the evening we recommend the actors dine with the guests at a central table. This does add the expense of paying for their meals, but for entertainment value it’s worth it!

Dance the night away. To continue your evening's entertainment after the murderer has been discovered, we recommend adding a disco to private events or even a casino if you're feeling lucky!

Fancy dress. We encourage all guests to dress in fancy dress for the style of the evening – it helps the guests feel more involved and you could win a prize!

The perfect venue. We have worked with many hotels in the past in most major cities across the UK. Let us know your murder mystery requirements and leave all the organising to us. Alternatively, we are totally portable so we can provide the professional actors to any venue, be it a hotel, castle, ship or even your own home!

Make it a weekend. Turn your night into a murder mystery weekend by adding an overnight stay with breakfast to your package.

Welcome to Chicago! It's 1922 and you're invited to Ronnie Rocks' birthday party along with some other special guests...the underworld of Gangsters and Molls! Speakeasies are very popular in spite of the prohibitive times and Ronnie runs a few alongside his Diamond dealing operations. Ronnie is celebrating but soon the evening takes a tragic twist!

Professor Bugel's Last Post
Theme: 1920’s & Sherlock Holmes

Professor Bugel, the mad German scientist, is celebrating his being awarded "The Golden Test Tube" for services to a famous childrens’ hospital with close friends. Unfortunately his laboratory where the dinner was to be held has been broken into, so he changed the venue at the last minute. Everyone is pleased to celebrate with the Professor but soon a hideous murder is committed and it's up to you and the ace detective Sherlock Holmes to solve the crime.

Sherlock Holmes & the Mystery of the Black Pearl

Lady Plenty is opening a new Tea Rooms in Baker Street and is celebrating in style, she's showing of the mysterious Black Pearl, said to be Pirates treasure. Not all goes according to plan and soon there's robbery and a hideous murder is committed. Sherlock Holmes is called in to solve the crime with your help!

Theme: Modern day & Spooky!!
It is the 300th anniversary of the death of Goody Two-Clogg, a wise woman and healer who was drowned in Mystic Lake by the Witch Hunter General. Members of Little Bottom Wiccans and Healers Society are meeting for their AGM Awards Ceremony and to pay homage to Goody Two-Clogg wrongly killed as a suspected witch in the nearby lake. Everything is going smoothly, until a horrifying death occurs. Could it be the ghost of Goody Two-Clogg seeking revenge? Jealousy of a rival or something more sinister? You must decide as the comedic mystery unfolds...

Better By Nun!

Mad Maude haunts this very room. She was sentenced to death by the Abbot of a nearby Monastry and was burnt at the stake. The venue's owners have asked that the spirit be exorcised, after some spooky goings on and the recent death of a guest. There's tension in the air amongst the Monks & Nuns performing the exorcism- and Sister Slosh may have been at the communion wine! Someone has been covering up some petty thefts, but why? Things take a turn for the worse when a MURDER is committed! It's up to you to try to unravel the mystery.

It’s 1928 and the height of the Flapper era. Laird McTavish, miserly millionaire, is celebrating his 100th Birthday and you’re on the guest list, along with the close family and a few surprise guests! Welcome to Castle McTavish in the wilds of Aberdeenshire for an evening of intrigue, suspense, celebration and MURDER! Clunge the Butler welcomes you to the event accompanied by Fanny the parlour maid and then there’s McTavish’s son the whiter than white Curate Robert and the rather saucy Nurse Golightly. Such characters can only mean you’re in for a great night of entertainment. Soon you’ll be stunned by the ricochet of gunshots, and discover the identity of the first victim. But why were they killed, and how was the second murder committed and why? Just a few of the questions you have to answer as amateur sleuth as you question the suspects and work out the dastardly villain who dunnit!

Retired Major Hardup has passed on to the next world. You have been invited to his will reading along with the Major’s staff; the house keeper Miss Prigg and the creepy groundsman. Several claimants have also arrived but who should inherit the estate? An evening of fun remembrance takes on a sinister twist when a body is discovered and it is clear there is a murderer in our midst...

Murder at the Moulin Rouge combines all the flavour of the famous French club with the trendy atmosphere of the recent film and our original comic murder mystery style. Set in 1901’s Moulin Rouge in gay Paris- You are invited to the premiere of the new Moulin Rouge show “Spectacular Extravaganza!” but things are going awry and manager Will Will de Bom- Bom is trying to avert disaster - but will he succeed?

The hotel is celebrating its silver jubilee and honored guests have arrived for the grand ball - Lady Plenty bejeweled in diamonds and pearls along with her daughter, the famous psychic Count Mysterioso and a couple of GI Joes. But soon a robbery and mysterious death mean the event takes a sinister turn. But who is the thief and killer?

Running Order

For private murder mystery events you may choose the start time but we recommend a drinks reception for either 7pm or 7:30pm. Advise all guests to arrive on time as we cannot start without all the suspects there!

Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre tends to run about 3 hours approximately, so with a 7pm start the event would finish at approximately 10pm.

7:00pm Drinks reception. Meet the characters at reception for pre dinner theatre drinks, where clue-packs are distributed and you get to know who's who- keep your wits about you so you don't miss a clue!

7:30pm Sit down for dinner. Dinner is announced the characters sit at a central table and make introductions; they play out a dramatic scene, ending in who knows?… Bloodshed?

7:45pm Dinner is served. Each course is served and the comic plot unfolds. The actors perform comedic and clue packed scenes in between courses and table hop dropping clues, giving you the chance to question them! Word-games and Quizzes are introduced during the evening, which may reveal clues to who the murderer is!

9:15pm You solve the crime! At around dessert time it's your chance to figure out who dunnit! Then hand in your solution sheets for judging after which the drama denouement uncovers the dastardly villain whodunit! They may come to a sticky end…

9:45pm Prizes awarded. The grand prize is awarded to the winners and a booby prize to the losers. But there's still a chance to win with the free prize draw and best fancy dress!

10pm End of murder mystery event.
