How does it work?

This can run as a half day workshop or may be developed into a two-day more detailed experience.

We commence the workshop with a lively warm-up workshop a teambuilding games before introducing the day's activities. The delegates will be divided into movie making groups where writer, director and producer are appointed(this can be done on the hoof or pre-arranged).

The challenge for each team is to produce a 5 minute infomercial or short advertisement about recent development within your company or new products just released. We advise this be tailored as this really works as a training tool and ensures your team have an understanding of recent changes. You may, for example be working on health and safety in the workplace and the teams create a public information film based on the impact on their workplace.

The groups may also choose a style for their movie, for example - Western, Sci-Fi, Romance, Horror. The teams are guided through each step of writing, production, direction and filming by the workshop leaders.

In our movie makers teambuild, teams compete in an enjoyable and creative atmosphere, working together to find the winning formula.

Our workshops are totally flexible so they can be incorporated fully into your requirements. For example we can add assessors who will join the team to motivate each group and log team dynamics as required.

Typical timeline for a move making workshop:

The movie making workshop is a minimum half day event and can be arranged for a morning or afternoon start, below is an example of an afternoon schedule.

There is a lot of flexibility with this teambuilding activity as a more detailed event can be spread out into a 2 day event, by going into more detail with production: introduction of a budget for making the movie to acquire props and costumes, writing and editing of the script.

1pm - 1:20pm	Introduction warm up workshop
1:20pm – 3pm	Brainstorm, creation and rehearsal of the movie
3pm - 3:30pm	Filming of the movies
3:30 -4pm	BREAK
4pm – 5pm	Screening of all the movies and prize giving ceremony

What’s included?

The event includes:

Two workshop leaders (or more if you have a large group) for a half day
Cameraman for a half day
DVCam Camera and sound equipment (more microphones and cameras optional added cost)
Prize for the winning team and awards

Your group is formed into small teams of 5 or 8 and are given the following tools for the challenge:

Brief for the exercise
Notebook & Pen
Props and costumes

You will also receive a DVD of the movies, optionally you can add a “the making of” and filming of the award ceremony (at extra cost)
